DC Bus Air Con

Busclima, a global leader in transportation temperature control systems, updated its technology in 2025 to better address the growing demand for “green and quiet” air conditioning in traditional fuel-powered buses.

DC Bus Air Con has become a cost-effective upgrade path, allowing traditional buses to achieve near-electric bus-like air conditioning experiences without expensive high-voltage electrification retrofits.

Extreme Climate Protection: In harsh environments where summer surface temperatures exceed 50°C (such as the Middle East and South Asia), the system must continuously provide powerful and stable cooling, a prerequisite for normal vehicle operation.

DC Bus Air Con is compatible with both pure electric buses and traditional fuel-powered buses.

Pure Electric Buses: Relying entirely on battery power, the efficiency of the DC air conditioner for bus directly affects the driving range, making integrated thermal management crucial.

Traditional Fuel-Powered Buses: Utilizing a 24V DC parallel system, the air conditioning can operate independently from a backup battery after the vehicle is turned off, avoiding the noise, fuel consumption, and emissions from engine idling. This perfectly solves the issues of passenger comfort and environmental protection when buses are resting at stops or terminals.

The rooftop air conditioning system for electric buses has evolved from a functional component to a key factor influencing operational strategy.
